Review: Cocoa Village Playhouse tells a beautiful ‘West Side Story’

Intermission: “Who’s that girl?!” “What a voice!” “Only 17 years old?!” The audience buzz was surrounding one Ms. Isabel Prado who takes on the role of Maria in Cocoa Village Playhouse’s production of “West Side Story.”

Know this, ladies and gentlemen, none of the praise is overstated and this girl has got to be seen to be believed.

During his rendition of “Maria” I had just been thinking what a lovely set of pipes Dillon Giles (Tony) has. Then the poor chap had to sing a duet with Prado, whose angelic pitch-perfect voice would be right at home on stage at the Metropolitan Opera. She leaves practically everyone in her dust.

What do you think?
