As Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed tossed fireworks back and forth at each other on Sunday at the Valspar Championship, I realized I was watching the tournament of the year so far.
The PGA Tour season technically starts in October. Nobody really pays much attention, however, until the new year begins. Even then, thinks are shaky until Tiger Woods tees it up.
We got a classic at the HSBC Champions in China in November when Bubba Watson chipped in on the 72nd hole. Unfortunately, nobody was awake to see it.
So instead of looking at the entire PGA Tour season going back to October, I thought it would be fun to rank the 11 events that have taken place so far in 2015.
Several factors come into play here. The first (and most obvious) is a great finish. There has to be a great leaderboard, too. You might have a 21-man playoff at the Puerto Rico Open but when the casual golf fan hasn’t heard of 19 of those guys, that bumps your ranking down.
