Ian Poulter has committed to next week’s Puerto Rico Open, but he may well have to make his way to Austin, Texas beforehand.

Alton run continues to grow – The Telegraph – thetelegraph.com

Saturday temperatures dipped slightly from warmer weather, but that didn’t stop hundreds of excited runners from participating in the Annual Alton Half Marathon.

The event began at the Liberty Bank Alton Amphitheater, where runners competed for best time, crossing the Clark Bridge twice before trekking alongside Berm Highway and then rounding back to the finish line.

Runners enjoyed panoramic views by the scenic river and by the middle of the run, the clouds had completely disappeared.

The race also featured a 5K run/walk that was open to family members of all ages.

Amber Simpson attended with her nieces and nephews.

“I’ve run about 15 or 20 of these,” she said. “It’s a fun way to exercise. I usually do them with family and friends. While many participants found the marathon to be a great way to help stay in shape, some of the runners were preparing for the future.”

Justin Lochmann, of Alhambra, placed first in the 5k at 23:19.

“I’m training for a half marathon in May in Indianapolis,” he said. “It’s one of the largest half-marathon

According to PR Best Boxing, Martinez (29-2-3, 17 KOs) was examined by Dr. Jose M. Santiago Figueroa, who diagnosed him with tendinitis in his left hand and recommended he rest it for four weeks.

"Definitely Rocky will not fight on March 12," PR Best Boxing vice president Peter Rivera said. "Rocky had a pain in the hand, and we went last week to see Dr. Santiago Figueroa, who specializes in hand injuries and is one of the best in Puerto Rico, and he prescribed some medication to Rocky. But the pain continued, and we went to see him again [Thursday]. After the evaluation, Dr. Santiago Figueroa gave him the diagnosis and advised him not to punch with that hand and rest for four weeks.

"As soon as the doctor notified us [Thursday], we talked with the people from Zanfer Promotions [Berchelt's promoter] to let them know of the situation and to work the possibility of a new date for the
