Sunday was a day of national pride for Puerto Ricans in New York City.
Thousands of people lined up the streets of Fifth Avenue over the weekend to celebrate the 57th Annual Puerto Rican Day Parade in New York City. Despite the muggy weather, it was a day filled with dancing, flag waving and coming together of those with ties to Puerto Rico.
The Grand Marshall of the parade was legendary actress and Broadway star Rita Moreno, according to The Associated Press. Moreno's Oscar-winning performance as Anita in "West Side Story" won the hearts of Puerto Ricans everywhere. Moreno even got into the action by dancing with New York's Archbishop Timothy Dolan.
